English Setters Available For Adoption

This list is constantly changing. It is intended only as an example of the type of dogs that we have in rescue. Dogs listed may or may not still be available when your application is approved. We update this list as often as practically possible. We receive calls daily about new dogs needing help so if you don't see a dog in your area, please don't assume that there are none.

Note that we make every effort to match people with dogs so that all of our adoptions are happy and permanent ones. Years of experience enable our adoption coordinators to become very skilled at making good matches. We reserve the right to decline to place any or all of our dogs with any individual if we feel that the placement is not in everyone's best interest. We urge you to follow the guidance of the adoption coordinator in finding the rescue dog that best suits your family's needs.

Because of a severe shortage of foster homes and the overwhelming number of dogs needing new homes, many dogs listed are referrals as opposed to dogs actually in foster care with one of our volunteers. Referral dogs are dogs in locations where we have no available foster homes. We will list any non-aggressive English Setter that needs a new home, but we have not personally tested these dogs and cannot verify the information on them. If you have an approved application and would like a contact number for any of the dogs listed as referrals, we will be happy to provide one. We do urge you to gather as much information as you can before adopting the dog.

Remember - our dogs are worth waiting for!

How can I help?

There are many ways to get involved with E.S. rescue. Donations are ALWAYS welcome and those donations help us keep afloat. Foster homes are also needed around the country. Other tasks that we need help with are: transportation, home visits, letter writing, fundraising, and publicity.
